Ligne is a premier publication in Quebec’s design and architecture landscape. Deeply rooted in its milieu, the magazine sought to expand its audience and accessibility without compromising its editorial rigor.

From the outset, the mandate transcended a simple redesign; before addressing form, it was essential to clarify substance. Who is Ligne, who is its target audience, and what role does it intend to play in the ecosystem of design and contemporary living? This reflection led to a complete overhaul of the brand platform, the logo, the editorial layout, and the digital experience.

The new positioning stems from a simple conviction: design practices can reach a broad public. This is achieved not by simplifying or diluting the subject matter, but by making Ligne’s world more welcoming, vibrant, and open. The logo serves as a minimalist anchor. Understated yet assertive, its simplicity allows it to coexist with rich editorial compositions and an ever-evolving graphic universe. The visual system is built on a bold typographic approach and a flexible grid that modulates the rhythm of the reading experience. Colour plays a central role, utilizing a dynamic visual language that modulates between magazine issues and digital presence, while maintaining total brand consistency.

More than a mere magazine, Ligne now functions as a cultural platform dedicated to design, architecture, and the art of living. This new identity supports its growth and reinforces its position as a vital authority within Quebec’s design culture.
